Freelux Phantom Power Indicator
In most households the majority of the appliances stay plugged into the mains socket even though they aren't being used. Even though the appliances are switched off or in standby mode, they still consume energy. This phenomenon is known as phantom power. On average appliances in standby mode are responsible for 15% of the total power consumption. To help you identify the biggest consumers in your household we introduce the Freelux Phantom Power Indicator.

With the Standby Indicator you can easily identify each appliance's average power consumption and take appropriate measures to lower your electricity usage. For some appliances it will be just a matter of unplugging instead of switching to standby. Or you could use a Freelux TV Standby Saver for your TV.
Here's how the Freelux Standby Indicator works. Simply plug any appliance into the standby indicator and plug the indicator into a mains socket. The number of LEDs that light up will tell you how much electricity is used by this appliance.
1 * LED = 17 kWh = € 4,00 per year
2 * LED = 43 kWh = € 10,00 per year
3 * LED = 87 kWh = € 20,00 per year
4 * LED = 131 kWh = € 30,00 per year
These calculations are based on an average price of € 0,23/kWh
Saving 100 kWh will already reduce CO2 emissions by dozens of kilograms. By reducing electricity consumption the CO2 emissions caused during the production of the standby indicator can be compensated within a matter of months. Just remember to disconnect the standby indicator after use, since the standby indicator by itself consumes energy.
